Event Rewind: Ship to Golden Shore

The snow and icy weather didn’t keep a dedicated band of folks from attending Randolph Stilson’s program about the Schooner Damariscove’s voyage from New England to California.  Randy’s grandfather, Reuben Ball, was on the voyage.  Randy highlighted passages from the book Ship to Golden Shore:  A Chronicle of the Schooner Damariscove, her Men and her “Afterlife”: 1849-1854 which he co-authored with Roxann Rhea.  The book is one of the State Library’s digitized “Classics of Washington History.” You can explore the book here.  Thanks for a great program, Randy, and thanks to all the people who braved the weather to attend!
