Event Rewind: On American Soil

Posted by wastatelib on January 18, 2007

Those of you who joined us at the State Library last night got to hear a fabulous presentation by Jack Hamann, author of “On American Soil: How Justice Became a Casualty of World War II.“  Jack described how he discovered this fascinating story, how he and his wife and fellow researcher Leslie followed the trail of clues to uncover hidden government documents, and what some of the response has been since the book’s publication.  Jack took questions from the audience afterwards and then stayed to chat for a few minutes with Washington State First Gentleman Mike Gregoire, who attended the program.

Additional information about “On American Soil” can be found on Jack’s website, and our pictures from last night can be found here.  Thanks Jack and Leslie for bring history alive for all of us here at the State Library!
