Two new pieces about the 2008 transition for the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library are now circulating in the Seattle press. First, KIRO TV ran a story on the transition which focused primarily on the dispute between the City of Seattle and the State of Washington over the building. Next, Seattle Weekly ran a story on WTBBL that emphasized its different types of services for the blind and seeing-impaired, as well as the laudable efforts of Seattle-based staff and volunteers.
Everyone interested in the upcoming WTBBL transition should read the official Washington State Library “Transition of the Washington Talking Book and Braille Library–FAQ.” This document addresses a number of the issues brought up by the two press pieces, as well as a number of others not addressed.
