Thank you very much for making these items pdfs. It makes them accessible from our school district computers. There is still a policy of not accessing blogs and our firewall was blocking when we tried to use the links on this list. These are very helpful handouts and I think they will be used a great deal by our librarians now that they can get to them.

What a great resource. Thanks Wastatelib! We have so many people who come in to our small rural library asking geneology questions and we never knew quite how to assist them. This site kinda pulls much of that together for us so we can direct patrons where to get started. We're putting together a printed resource so patrons can search through it and take home a copy of your lists is need be. We always receive so much help from Wastatelib, thanks again.

Great news! All of the handouts on this page are now up on our official site. You should be able to download them safely, without any need to access Box.net. There may be additional links around the blog that haven't yet been transferred, but the handouts page should be done. Please let us know at askwsl@secstate.wa.gov if you have any further problems.

Sorry the link's a bit misleading. Here's a <a href="http://activetectonics.asu.edu/kites/06eq.html" rel="nofollow">diagram of Lawrence's kite setup.</a> And here's information on a <a href="http://scotthaefner.com/kap/features/?page=1906" rel="nofollow">modern day reconstruction of Lawrence's famous shot</a>.

I was hoping to seeing the kites with camera, but the picture of San Francisco was nice. Very fast connections, thanks.

[...] What’s significant about this blog is its various avenues for reader feedback. Clearly this must help the administrators of the blog (likely the librarians themselves,) see what works and what doesn’t work for their user community. Blogs that don’t allow for easy feedback don’t have the same opportunity for growth and improvement, and may wind up stagnating and losing reader interest. I encourage you to check it out for yourself, but the Washington State Library blog employs (among many other things,) comments pages, Flickr picture pages, Platial (a mashup tool), subscription for news feeds, and playful quizzes and tests, like this one.
