Thursday, November 8, 2007.  Evening Event at 6:30 pm.  Author Mary Matsuda Gruenewald presented on her book “Looking Like the Enemy: My Story of Imprisonment in Japanese-American Internment Camps.” 

Wednesday, October 3, 2007.  Evening Event at 6:30 pm.  Poet Lucia Perillo read from her recent works.

Wednesday, May 9, 2007.  Lunchtime Brownbag Event at 12:10 pm.  Joe Follansbee presents on his book, “Shipbuilders, Sea Captains, and Fishermen:  The Story of the Schooner Wawona.” 

Wednesday, April 25, 2007.  Lunchtime Brownbag Event at 12:10 pm.  Co-author of “Spanning Washington,” Rick Hobbs presents on his new book, “Catastrophe to Triumphs: Bridges of the Tacoma Narrows.

Wednesday, March 14, 2007.  Susan Butrille presented “Tea, True Womanhood, and Uppity Women.”

Thursday, February 8, 2007.  Susan Noyes Platt presented “Four African American Artists Working in Washington State Since 1945: James W. Washington, Jr., Jacob Lawrence, Barbara Thomas, Marita Dingus.”

Recorded Washington State Library Events

If you missed an event at the Washington State Library, many are now available on DVD.  Some of our event speakers gave us permission to record their presentations so that people who couldn’t attend an event could enjoy it later. Post-production of the video recordings is now complete and they are available through Resource Sharing (Interlibrary Loan) or in-person check out at the Library.   1. i saw a notice of a program regarding japanese internment to be held at the state library. i believe it is scheduled for sometime this coming week (Nov 5-9) do you have any additional information? thanks rebecca hom
